Bio
Mark F. Sypher is an award-winning photojournalist based in the Washington D.C. region.
After earning a B.A. in Communication from George Mason University in 2000, Mark earned an internship at Roll Call Newspaper and covered national news events from Capitol Hill during the week. At night and on the weekends Mark photographed high school sports for The Washington Post and covered national news and professional sports for epa (european pressphoto agency).
In 2002 Mark accepted a position as a staff photojournalist at the Fauquier Times-Democrat in Warrenton, Va.. In 2007 the staff of the Fauquier Times-Democrat won the Sweepstakes award for best weekly newspaper in Virginia, and the photography department played a large role in earning the newspaper points. In 2008 Mark left the newspaper and began his career as a freelance photojournalist and started his wedding photography business.
Mark lives in Northern Virginia with his wife Sahar and his two miniature dachshunds Bella and Chitah.
